Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Moshi. You’ll have a pre-climb briefing with your guide, who will check your gear and go over the details of your trek. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and prepare for the climb ahead.

After breakfast, a scenic drive takes you to Machame Gate, where the journey to the summit begins. Hike through lush rainforest, keeping an eye out for blue monkeys, birds, and other wildlife. You’ll reach Machame Camp in about 5-7 hours.

You will leave the rainforest and enter the Moorland Zone. The hike is shorter today, but more challenging as you climb higher. Enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Meru and the Shira Plateau along the way. After 4-6 hours, you’ll arrive at Shira Camp.

Today is a crucial day for acclimatization. You will trek up to Lava Tower (4,600m), where you’ll have lunch and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. After lunch, descend into the Barranco Valley and arrive at Barranco Camp after 6-8 hours of hiking.

Begin the day by climbing the Barranco Wall, a steep but manageable scramble. Once at the top, the views of Kibo Peak and the glaciers are spectacular. After a 4-5 hour hike through undulating valleys and ridges, you’ll reach Karanga Camp, a key point for further acclimatization.

Today, you will hike for 3-4 hours to reach Barafu Camp, the base camp for your summit push. The landscape becomes more barren and desolate as you near the camp. You’ll arrive early in the day, allowing time to rest and prepare for your midnight summit ascent.

At midnight, you’ll begin your final ascent to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is the most challenging part of the climb, taking 6-8 hours to reach Stella Point (5,739m), and another hour to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, you will descend to Mweka Camp for the night.
